A word from Kerri
Well it has not been the straight forward start of the year that we had all hoped for and I hope that the next few days do not see any change to our status. Thank you for the support and feedback that the community has given us about our swift move to online learning, our teachers are such professionals and their ability to adapt so quickly makes a difference to our learners.
I am also so impressed with our children, their resilience and ability to go straight to working from home and then back to school is amazing, we are very proud of them.
We are all looking forward to seeing families tomorrow evening at our Meet the Team event. If you are unable to come, please see the links to the team presentations below.
Meet the Team Evening
Thursday 25th of February 2021
There are two parts to this meeting. The first is for teams to inform parents about how their team programmes operate, the organisation of the teams etc. This will be held in the learning spaces. The second part is where parents meet in the hall and Kerri will introduce herself and talk about the plans for 2021 and Craig Priscott, Board Chair, will share what the board goals are for this year.

meet your children’s teachers in their teaching spaces.
7:15-7:45 pm All Parents Meet in the Hall
Kerri & Craig (BOT Chair) will provide insight into where the school is at now and where it is heading in the future.

The BCG
Monday 1st of March 6:45pm
In the school staffroom
The Bayfield Community Group is open to all parents, who would like to support our school.
Our role is to:
● help foster the relationship between Bayfield and its community;
● bring community issues to the attention of the school;
● act as a sounding board for school-originated ideas (such as digital pathways and the school communication survey and findings);
● take primary responsibility for fundraising and school community events; and
● work in conjunction with the year group parent reps.
You won’t be landed with a list of duties if you come along to meetings. Our intention is to spread the load of fundraising and community event organisation – so a small group of parents is not overloaded and to make sure current expertise is passed on from parents whose children are in their final year at Bayfield
If you have any questions, contact Stacey at bayfieldbcg@gmail.com.
Come along and see what the BCG is all about, a great way to connect with other parents and make a difference to Bayfield School.
Cyber Safety & Family Zone Parent Talk
Wednesday 3rd March 6:45-7:30pm
Puriri Year 6 Space
Our kiwi kids are online and connected. Interacting, sharing and communicating online is an integral part of their daily lives and while opportunities abound, the increased time online can often lead to a greater chance of risk and challenge.
For parents, families and whānau, this can mean heightened anxiety, concern and a sense of helplessness…but it doesn’t have to be.
Join Pauline from Linewize's Success Team as she unpacks some of the online challenges and complexities young people face and offers some tips for supporting our tamariki as they navigate life online.
Feel free to bring your children as Natalie will be running a Coding Club while Pauline is talking. Bayfield children of all years welcome.
Nits:
Once again these critters are appearing across the school. It would be appreciated if parents would check children’s hair regularly and treat as necessary.
